From the Heart of Kansas to the Heart of France

When Neal and I (Robin) were dreaming about how to celebrate 25 years of marriage, our thoughts quickly went to a European vacation.  For years we had toured the continent with Rick Steves on PBS, and longed to go there in person.  What we didn't realize until recently is that we could literally go with Rick Steves, and travel Europe in the style we'd seen on his show. We loved the mix of art, history and culture blended with an active, adventurous spirit.  Plus, we decided that having all of our hotels and travel taken care of would make the trip much more enjoyabe for us.  We narrowed our choice down to visiting France (Robin has loved the Eiffel Tower since she studied French in school) and were excited to find out that we could be in France both for our anniversary and for Bastille Day!

The trip was all we hoped for, and more.  Our tour took us to all of the sights we didn't want to miss in Paris, the Loire Valley, and Normandy, which we show on our Highlights page. One of the best parts of the tour, though, was going to places that we hadn't heard of and wouldn't have known about on our own, which you can see on the Hidden Gems page.  Our amazing Bastille Day experience is on the Holiday page. And the last page is a fun look at some our favorite things through our different perspectives--His and Hers.
